Debarking and chipping line
This line is unique in Spain, and it has been designed with the specific purpose of receiving, classifying and treating several types of forest residues as well as those generated in the primary processing of the wood.
This way, our raw materials can be sawdust, chips, logs, felling of forests, discarded trunks for sawing, etc.
We have a huge versatility that allows us a quick and effective response to any request or demand without having to rely on the existing sawdust available at a particular point in time.
The chipping line has a first stage of chipping that is carried out by a drum chipper, BRUKS Klöckner, with four blades, which provides a uniform chip size similar to a G30, using as raw material trunks stripped of bark with less than 30 cm diameter.
The rest of the chipping line has been made by Oñaz, SA, and consists of several stages of intermediate storage, sieving and size reduction by a hammer mill (PALLMANN) specially designed for crushing chips with a high percentage of humidity (60%). This mill provides an output of 10-12 tons / h of microchips.
Wood pellets production line
The wood pellets production line has been installed by PRODESA Medioambiente, which is a licensee company in Spain of the Swiss company W. Kunz dryTec AG, leader in the market of agro-industrial driers, with the brand SWISS COMBI, for more than forty years. It also distributes the pelletizers PROMILL STOLZ, which also have an extensive experience in wood pelletizing throughout Europe.
Biomass thermal oil heater
A thermal oil heater supplies the necessary heat for the wood drying process.
The fuel used in the heater is biomass not suitable for its processing as wood pellets.
This way, we can say that we are an industrial manager of forest and primary processing wood residues that reach our plant, since we classify them and use them, according to their characteristics, to fuel or to raw material for the production, using everything in the most efficient way.
The biomass thermal oil heater (SUGIMAT, S.L.) has a furnace with travelling grates, with automatic wet de-ashing system, which gives it a great versatility when used with biomass fuels.
The facility has an oil-water heat exchanger to transfer to the water the necessary heat required to dry the wood, providing water with a temperature around 105-85 ° C.
The characteristics of the heater are the following:
- Thermal Oil Heater power: 4.100.000 kcal / h (4.767 kW)
- Oil Temperature: 310 ° C
- Fuel: Pine bark and chips
- Heat-transfer medium: Thermal oil
- Design Temperature: 350 º C
Low temperature belt drying system
Raw material goes through a temperature of 90ºC (max.) to dry, taking care of it to the maximum during the whole process to avoid roasting or burning.
The low temperature thermal drying is fed with hot water from the biomass thermal oil heater.
Advantages of this drying system:
- It is an indirect drying system that does not add ashes and/or other particles to the product to be pelletized, allowing its certification within the most demanding quality standards, such as those established by the regulations DIN +, Enplus, etc., provided that the initial raw material has the appropriate characteristics for it.
- Low emission levels: particles below 15 mg/Nm3, (no additional treatments required)
- Possibility of using low temperature residual energies, such as hot water and / or steam from a cogeneration plant.

The wet product is distributed evenly over the conveyor belt by a screw conveyor. The conveyor belt carries a layer of the product along the drying tunnel, when it reaches the end another conveying screw recirculates the product and puts it back into the belt, forming a second layer. After passing a second time for the drying tunnel, the dry product is removed from the system through another discharge screw conveyor.
The speed of the conveyor belt is controlled by continuously measuring the moisture of the final dry product at the end of the process.
Using a fan, ambient air passes through an air-water heat exchanger, where the air is heated before passing through the drying belt to evaporate the water that's inside the product. The fan capacity is adjusted by a frequency converter according to the available energy in the heat exchanger.
To ensure optimal system operation, the band is cleaned continuously by a rotating brush and an intermittent high pressure system is automatically activated.
Pelletizing line and product output
We use two pelletizers Promill-Stolz to achieve a production of 6 Ton/h.
The pelletizing line has one Hammer Mill PROMILL type BNB50, with a power of 250 kW, (where the wood flour is generated) and two Compression Rolls PROMILL – STOLZ, type Evolution 8016, with 250 kW.
The way out of the pellets has been designed to allow either bulk storage on the floor of the factory premises, or storage in two silos of 500 m3 capacity each. In the latter case, the product leaves the silo through a final sieve to further move to the line of bagging and palletizing and / or loading to a truck, thereby eliminating potential dusts generated by the pellets during their transit to the final point.
Automatic bagging system
Our automatic bagging system is a novel system of double handle, the only one in Spain. It makes easier the handling of 15 kg bags of wood pellets.
Regarding the bagged product, we have a bagging machine provided by the company Boga Técnica, S.L., that makes the bag directly from a plastic film, and besides it incorporates two handles to facilitate its handling. The bags contain 15 kg of pellets.
Telescopic loading system for bulk product
With this system of telescopic loading we accomplish a quick and clean loading of trucks, either cargo semi-trailers or tanker trucks.
Bulk loading of haulage trucks it's done by a telescopic loading system that allows the filling up of cargo semi-trailers and also tanker trucks, in a very short time. The telescopic loaders are adequate for a continuous loading with a maximum volume of material of 80 m3/h. To the bottom of the loader it will be incorporated a "mini – skirt" to avoid the leak of an excessive amount of dust during the loading process. The raising is done by means of an electric motor.
